TAYE DIGGS BIOGRAPHY

Taye Diggs (well known as Billy Baker from All American) is among the famous African American actors. He is also a writer for children books and a singer.He was born in Newark , New Jersey. He was born in January 2, 1971.

Early Life

He took his education in the school of arts in Rochester and went to Syracuse University where he earned his degree in Bachelor of Fine Arts in 1993. He together with his siblings were raised in Rochester, New Jersey. Taaye is his nickname which he earned from a playfull pronunciation and he acquired the name Diggs from his step father when his mother (Marcia) remarried.

His father Andre Young (an artist) and his mother who was a teacher and an actress had 5 children, Taye being the eldest.

Personal Life

He has one son with Idina Menzel with whom they co-parent. He was married to Idina Menzel in 2003 but ended up separating in 2013 and leading to their devorce in 2014 which led to co-parenting. After the divorce he has had a relationship with Amanza Smith (a real estate agent) from 2019-2019 and also with Apryl Jones from 2021-2023.

Career

He began his acting in 1996. He began as theater where he was in Carousel. He then ventured into film where he began it in 1998. He has been in lots of film including ” How Stella Got Her Groove”. He has then acted several series including the famous “All American”

He is also a great writer. He has written several books for children. They include:Mixed Me! and Chocolate Me!
