Russia commences offensive attacks after cancelling ceasefire calls to allow civilians leave cities of Mariupol. The civilian evacuation will start today midday, Russian officials says. Ukraine had appealed to Russian president Putin to Ceasefire after striking the humanitarian corridors in Russia.  

Vissa and Mastercard stops operations in Russia. Russia continues to experience massive sanctions from multinational companies. Recently, companies like Nike, Adidas, Apple and Microsoft have stopped making supplies to Russian Stores due to Russian Invasion on Ukraine. Today, Mastercard and Visa services are shut down for Russian people complicating financial transactions.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky called U.S. President Biden asking for more weapons and fighter jets. “The more our ammunitions are exhausted, the more our people die,” he pleaded with US President. He also requested president Joe Biden to help in declaring Ukrainian air space as a No-Fly zone by the NATO besides increasing sanctions on Russia. Russian president Vladmir Putin warns against Ukraine no-fly zone order. He argues any country that will support that will be considered part of the conflict. Russia now threatens Ukraine’s statehood as the war intensify. Russia is furious over increased sanctions. It is clear that these sanctions will cause severe economic consequences on Russia and global market.

United Nations to hold an emergency meeting on Monday on Humanitarian crisis in Ukraine. This comes after the increased and anticipated massive refugee flee Ukraine to Poland and Romania for safety. These refugees need urgent medical support, foodstuffs, shelter and other necessities. This comes after Russia accused Ukraine of making dirty bombs and unleashing them at their soldiers, although they lack evidence.

United Nations and Ukrainian government have announced the number of refugees tall to 1.5 million in 10 days of war. These refugees have fled the country to neighboring Poland and Romania. They are mainly women and children. This calls for increased humanitarian aid from allies.

Ukraine and Russia third diplomatic talks to take place on Monday at an undisclosed place with hopes of mutual agreement and understanding expected. Yesterday, Israel Prime Minister Bennett held talks with Putin urging him to stop the war and embrace diplomacy and peace. Meanwhile Canadian government has urged its citizens to leave Russia while commercial means are still accessible.
