It was anticipated that Kiptum will complete a sub-two in the forthcoming marathon Rotterdam Marathon.

  • Kelvin Kiptum Cheruiyot was reported dead at 11:00pm on Sunday 11 February 2024 alongside his coach Gervais Hakizimana in a traffic accident at Kaptagat along Eldoret Ravin road.  Kiptum who was driving a saloon car, Toyota Premio lost control of his car and veered off the road, entering a ditch 60m off the road before hitting a tree, resulting in his death.
