Ronda Rousey is an American female Wrestler famously for the women’s MMA scene in August of 2010. She was a known tomboy and swam at the ages of six to ten.

She was born on February 1, 1987 in Riverside County, California.

Ronda Rousey Family

She was born to her parents Ron Rousey (father) and AnnMaria DeMars (mother). She was born with an umbilical cord wrapped on her neck that affaected her vocal chords. She could not speak well till she turned six.

Rousey’s Early Life

Rousey nearly died in her mother’s womb due to a lack of oxygen and thus sustained slight brain damage, while this affected her ability to speak a well-conversed word until she was 6 years of age this was due to her being born with umbilical cord wrapped around her neck

Her father commited suicide when she was 8years old. Ron, the dad, broke his back while sledding with his daughters.This caused a blood disorder which prevented him from healing properly, and this caused him to be paralyzed in the few years he had left to live.

Her mother,Ann Maria De Mars, became her influence to learn judo this is after finding an outlet to her frustrations.As she struggled in class and was home-schooled for parts of her elementary and high school.In the year1984 she won a gold medal at judoka at World Champions .

Rousey struggled in the class and was home-schooled for parts of her elementary and high school. Ronda Rousey could find an outlet for her frustration when her mom, named Ann Maria De Mars, influenced her to learn judo. She is a gold medal winner at judoka in the year 1984 at World Championships.

Rousey submitted her name to the United States Olympic team when she was at the tender age of 15, at an age of 16 she became the youngest American to earn the national No. 1 ranking in the women’s half-middleweight category. Rousey failed to achieve a medal in the 2004 Olympics, but she claimed gold at that year’s World Junior and at Pan American Judo Championships.

End of Judo

In the year 2006 ,after defending the title in the World Junior and Pan American Judo Championships,she became the first American woman after twelve years to earn a World Championship medal in the 2007 tournament, by finishing the second round .In the Pan American Games in 2007, she won the gold , despite having a torn knee.At the 2008 olympics Rousey won the bronze medal , where at the age of 21 she retired from the game judo.

Martial Arts and Fame

Unsure of what to do next by ending her career in Judo,she decided to work as a bartender in Los Angeles. She then later joined the Glendale Fighting Club.She made her amateur debut in mixed marital arts in August 2010, where she achieved a victory after just 23 seconds.Fighting, two other amateur bouts ended with armbar submission after the 57 and 24 seconds, respectively.

By turning pro in that particular sport,she then continued her run of domination . She won off four straight wins in under around a minute. She was known as the Strikeforce Women’s Bantamweight Champion by defeating her competitor named Miesha Tate in four minutes and 27 seconds,this is in March the year 2012.
